![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I need a bit of assistance. I currently have a Rx330 that is a Savannah Metallic color (which I am very happy with). I am thinking of purchasing a 09 Rx350 however there is no longer a Savannah Metallic color option. I am told that the Golden Almond color is very close. The closest dealer is almost 200 miles away and before I travel that far I would like to get an idea of how these two colors compare. I have tried the lexus website but cannot get a good idea of the Golden almond.
Can anyone give me an idea of how these two colors compare?
Thanks for any help.

Yesterday I traded my '08 Savannah on an '09 Pebble Beach in Truffle. The dealership had an '09 Golden Almond Touring Edition on the lot. The colour is substantially different; very yellow compared with Savannah. Not the colour of choice for me. Had we chosen one of the other packages, we would have gone with Bamboo. Picking Truffle was a challenge as well. The colour swatches don't show the subtle differences between this and the Flint colour, so we waited until the one they had comng in arrived. With the two side by side you can see a difference. That also changes with the light levels during the day. As you know, Savannah changes with the light levels too. One of my neighbours has one and I always thought that was Silver, until I bought one!
However, this is totally personal choice; you are spending a lot of money and the only way for you to know if you like it or not is to see it. Maybe you can convince your closest dealership to bring a demo by for you, if they have one that colour?

I have an '04 Savannah and love the color, especially since the car gets parked outside most of the time. I happened upon the "Almond" color at the dealership last week, and the color difference to me was obvious instantly. The Almond is darker, far less metallic, not nearly as rich, more flat and dull, and not a color I would be interested in.
Colors on a car can only be judged by by seeing that car in person. When I was buying my SC430 at the time of its introduction, when no cars were on the road, even though the dealer had large paint squares to look at, I went out to the dealership every time one arrived in a new color. (The same goes for the interior colors.)
If you liked the Savannah, you may pass on the Almond and prefer the silver or the bamboo or even the white. Two hundred miles is a long time to travel, but 10 years is a long time to drive a car you don't like to look at. Just be sure that you have not made a contract to buy one you have not seen, then go and see the car in as many colors as you can.
Good luck.

Good idea for the asking the dealer to drive up with the color that you like to look at, seems like a reasonable demand, since you are really buying a replacement. Go for it. You are not happy, nobody happy, good luck and post pics after you take home the new 09!

The answer to that question, "Does anyone know . . . ," is yes.
Someone does know and he has posted on this forum a chart showing which colors were available for each model year of the RX. A couple of searches will surely bring it up for your perusal.
