Lexus have fixed the overhead rattle/creaking 3 times in the past. Then last week onwards, I started to hear the creaking rattle again from the same location. It's very annoying. It's not under warranty anymore. But the last rattle fix was done only 9 months ago. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately you may be in for a battle. This is what I had in my '08. I gave them 4 chances to fix it, with the same result you had. Mine was still under warranty. They replaced the sun roof cartridge and messed about up inside there on the other 3 occasions, to no avail. Bottom line, I am now driving an '09.

I'd keep on them, especially if it started under warranty. Be nice, firm and factual. Get the dealer principle involved, go up the ladder. Last thing they want is an unhappy customer, espscially one who may be looking to buy a new car!

I recently had the "overhead rattle" noise appear, especially when driving over 65. I finally traced it down to the big 2' x 2' plastic pan on the underneath of the car. The leading edge of the plastic pan came lose, and it was thwaping the underside of the car. From the inside, it sounded like it was overhead.

You said u had an '08 RX, but now '09 RX.. I am confused Did they just swap you with a brand new '09 since they couldn't fix ur '08 rattle issue. Thanks!!

We had an overhead rattle recently and it ended up being part of the roof rack assembly. They replaced the whole unit and it is nice and quiet again. Just another place to look for you. Good luck.

If your issue existed when the warranty was in effect, they may still cover it. Be persistent and they may likely take care of you. Particularly if you are considerig a replacement and let them know that!
