Default Drilled Bumper - Good ol' Stealership

Just out of curiosity: have any other members noticed holes in their front bumper, behind their front license plate mounts? I don't drive our RX as much, and in fact, it stays in the garage and comes out to play only on the weekends, and so I never even noticed. Anyways, I was actually out washing it the other day - took off the front license plate mount and noticed FOUR drilled holes - Lexus of Seattle was generous enough to drill the front plate RIGHT onto the bumnper. Not too upset about it, but I've seen other members post pictures without front end license plates - no holes. Anything I can do?

Thanks all,
Eric

I would go over and tell them about it! You might get a new front bumper cover. But,on the other hand, they might think your making a big deal out of nothing. So be prepared for that too.

they did that to my IS250 as well. I was kind of peeved since I wanted to remove the plate and just plug (what I thought were) the two holes. I have four holes as you described, I think it has to do with that small plastic plate holder. They drilled extra two holes for that, plus the two holes for the license plate...

Mine front bracket was also screwed into the bumper. Personally I hate that, but in this case I can't really blame the dealership since that is the proper way to mount these front license plate brackets. I just wish Toyota/Lexus and every other manufacturer for that matter would come up with a different way to mount the front bracket without screwing directly into the face of the bumper. My old Legend also had mounted bolts under the bumper lip so you couldn't see the mounting points.

mine has it too, but i dont care since this car becomes the dealers problem in 2 months! aerotect also makes color matched bumper plugs. when i get my new car im going to ask the dealer not to drill the holes or i will refuse the car.

Before I came home to Florida, I had my uncle repaint the front bumper and paint over the license plate holes on the front (from previous owner who lived in NY). Such a joy in Florida not seeing the front plate.
