Default What to do? Dealer used wrong engine oil...

Thanks...everything got resolved...I decided to take the ride and get some compensation on the next service.

Mean? Hardly! They made a mistake and should rectify it. Ask nicely and let us know the results.

Techs don't read so that is why I place the oil in a sack and place the sack on the passenger seat. That works for me.

You really don't have any problems. I would go with option 2, keep your oil for the next change and take advantage of the discounts on other items. Honestly, for 99% of our vehicles, regular oil will be just fine, won't do any damage or any sort, and will work well without any issues at all. If you think about it, most vehicles today get non-synthetic oil and they last forever.

However, for the next oil change, ask to speak to the service manager, explain your problem from this oil change and ask for a mechanic who can (and will) read.
