Smile Leather Cleaner

Does anyone know what specifically should be used when cleaning the leather seats in my 04 RX330? They really needed and I didn't want to do it with soap & water in fear of messing up the leather.

In the owners manual Lexis recommends:

To keep good appearance, we recommend you to clean it periodically twice a year.

Remove dirt on the leather in the following ways:
1. Wipe it off lightly using a soft cloth (e.g. gauze) dampened with 5% solution of neutral detergent for wool.
2. Wring water from a clean cloth and thoroughly wipe off all traces of detergent with it.
3. Wipe off the surface of the leather with a dry soft cloth. Allow the leather to dry in a ventilated shaded area. Excess of wet may cause the hardening or shrinking of the leather.

So they are suggesting something like Woolite diluted 20:1 with water. I like the dilution at 10:1 or even 6:1 for really dirty leather.

You can also use the Leather cleaner and leather conditioner products sold by Lexus. These products are supplied to Lexus by GSTAutoleathers, the supplier of the leather in your Lexus. They work very well and are inexpensive.

Default Any good leather cleaner & conditioner

Use any good leather cleaner/conditioner. Do NOT use Armor All. It will stain your pants and have you sliding off your seats. Turtle Wax makes both cleaner and conditioner, but I prefer stuff that the furniture store gave me with my leather recliner.

By the way, do you know why guys really love ladies in leather? Because they smell like a new car.

I use the Lexol Cleaner and Lexol Conditioner (2 seperate bottles). Really like it. Have also used the Turtle Wax Emeral Leather cleaner/conditioner which works pretty well also. Main thing reqardless of which brand you use, try to do the leather at least twice a year. I do mine in the fall before the cold winter weather hits and then again in the spring when the temps warm up.

Of course you guys know that since our seats are made from leather with a clear coat on it, leather conditioner does nothing for our seats except make them smell nice.

Default Lexol Cleaner and

conditioner. I just did my wife's light grey and it cleaned it right up (except for a pen mark) and its easy to use. Just don't get carried away and use too much cleaner.

I have used it on my light grey in my bmw for 8 years and with no problems either.

I recently bought a 2007 used and this was to be my first automobile with leather seats. I in the past have always detailed my vehicle myself. My next door neighbor, who by the way is a Porshe quack, and really is infatuated with his vehicle and the cleaniness of it gave me some advise. Firstly, despite paying a little more for a better product you will get better results. I then was turned on to Groits Garage and since have been exceptionally happy. The leather products work nice and leave a new car like scent "leather" behind. They also make an interior cleaner which cleans about anything. When I say anything, i really mean it. Used it on car, rug, etc. even cleaned Hi C on a white carpet without any stain. KILLER: Give it a try, they sell small amounts so you can see what you think. A little pricey but well worth it.

What might explain the purple stains I started to see a few days after using the leather conditioner and how do I get rid of it?
