I don't know about 8 but with 7 gen5 hardware, there was no longer the i agree nag screen with or without the lockpick. likewise, we have a lockpick that works great with the gen5 dvd7. for the older gen4 hardware, the i agree remains in dvd 7. I don't know if they have a lockpick that is compatible with the older hardware/firmware or not. there web site has so many disclaimers it's hard to tell.

Very odd, maybe it's due to the ML upgrade. That is, as long as you got the right version the basic lockpick. there is a lockpick basic 1 and a lockpick basic 3. the lockpick 3 works on our 09 rx 350 which has the same gen5 hardware as your 07. We have dvd v7 but I don't see why that should matter. the LP3 is spec'd to work on gen5, dvd 6 and up. I can't think of anything other than the ML angle. Might be worth a call to Coastaltech.

I just jumped over to their web site and found the following disclaimer:
ULTIMATE LOCKPICK 3
FULL MULTIMEDIA WITH VIDEO AND AUDIO UNLOCKED
Complete Plug-In Kit for 2006-2008 PRIUS
AND 2007-2008 RX, GX,LEXUS SUV'S
$229.00
(UNLOCK VIDEO AND AUDIO INPUT, REMOVE "I AGREE" MESSAGE, UNLOCK BLUETOOTH ENTRY)
NOT FOR LEXUS VEHICLES WITH REAR SEAT DVD SYSTEM OR CD/DVD CHANGER
That is for the 'ultimate LP 3' which unlocks nav, bluetooth and video. they do not have the same disclaimer for the basic LP 3 which only unlocks the nav.

I've got a basic Lockpick 3 in my 2007, and recently installed v8.1. I'd tried using the destination screen briefly while moving a few days ago, and everything was fine. Yesterday, when I poked around a bit in the destination screen while moving, it confused the map pretty badly: for the rest of the trip, it showed me driving in circles, a ways away from where I actually was. When I stopped, it updated, but not correctly. It never figured out where I was for the remainder of the trip.

Does anyone know if the v8.1 will remove the "I Agree" screen when you first start the car? My in-laws have a 2009 RX 350 bought in Canada and their navigation system does not have the I Agree screen. There's a legal disclaimer that automatically moves into the map view after two seconds. Any thoughts?

Our 2009 with dvd 7 does not have the I Agree either. For cars with the latest generation 5 hardware/firmware, that went away last year. Our GS has the older generation 4 hardware with applicable dvd v7 and it's still there. I can't imagine Lexus would bring it back on cars where it was eliminated previously and post #33 on this thread says it's gone with dvd 8 (gen5 systems).

Installing new navigation disk
I currently have NAV 6.1 in my 2008 RX350. I am considering going to the new NAV 8.1. Is anything more complicated to this than just inserting the new disk? Has anyone else made this particular upgrade and do you find it worth it?

try the search feature. lots of threads on this. you just eject the old dvd and insert the new one. 'worth it' depends on how you use your system, how much new development has happened in the areas you drive, and how snippy you wil be about spending $250. It will come with updated point of interest (businesses by name etc) and physical addresses/streets. you'll have to decide what that is worth to you.
