The Lexus premium sound system in the RX is one of the worst in the whole Lexus line up, the ML doesnt sound much better. Lets put it this way, the standard non-ML system in the GX sounds better than the ML in the RX.

me either, but it sounds better than any standard audio in other cars. The best I like is the Logic 7 Harmon Kardon in my dear mommies E class. The Lexus Premium sound is not bad its better than my sisters c240 or the loaner Ml350 and its not muddy like my last car a 98 ES300
Is it surround? sometime it sounds like, but it does not have center dash speaker so I am not sure if it is,

well just add a sub take signal from the front speakers add a amp doesn't need remote wire just ; speaker signal,batterrie wire ,ground and get the latest amp cause our system has factory preamp meaning in our speaker we have up to 5.0volts the latest on this brand for example mtx, fosgate and this need a remote wire jl audio they all come design to hold this 5.0 vdc from our systems.. pick a sub the size you wish then blast next to any rx with a premium you will laugh at them.(((guarantee)))

I think the ML sounds pretty good. I'm no audio expert, and I have no hearing in one ear at all, so stereo is lost on me, but I can offer my recent observations. The ML in the SC sounds great and my friends agree. My RX330 has the ML, and it does not sound as good at all, which I attribute to the much larger interior volume of the car. A few months ago I took a 3 hour ride with a friend who had a new RX350 without the ML system, and even to my ears it sounded flat and not nearly as deep and rich.
So, I would think that the ML is a step above the standard system (I don't know if the RX has a standard audio and a "premium" audio and a ML audio, or if it just has two options: the standard one and the ML).
