Is the RX330's AWD all time? Or is it like front wheel drive then switches to AWD.

All-time all-wheel drive.
It simply redistributes power when needed.

Default Snow snow & more snow

Well we now have had over 40" of snow this Dec. I believe, almost 5 today & another 5 or so on Christmas Eve. The new RX handles it like a pro so far.

Is there a Yugo buried in your front yard?

The worst we had one year was a 15" fall reported, and my RX300 did fine through there, with Michelin X-Terrain tires. I would imagine the 330/350 can handle the snow just fine.

The RX is very competent on snow and ice. It's just not made for Yukon mountain off roading.

With the snow we have gotten in the last 24 hrs. there could be a large 4X4 in the snow. The snow plow people are running out of places to put it. We are going to put up some "SNOW FOR SALE" signs.

The OEM Goodyear Integrity were junk. Around bends, the rear would always slip a little bit but recover. Not a particularly confident feeling. Got the X-Terrains and lasted about 50k and performed very well in snow, rain, etc. Then went to dealer for service and they advised on a good deal on the OEM Bridgestone Duelers.... thus far this year, they've been less than steller. Virtually new, but the rear will slip slightly around corners. Not as bad as the Integrity, but it occurs. I guess I'll have to live with this a few winters and then see about going back to X-Terrains.

At least they plow your snow. Up here they just let it pack till there is a budget for removal. Makes for interesting driving with really deep ruts.

Our small town has been plowing but the way things are it may not be long till they have to do the same with their budget for snow removel & salt getting dangerously low already.

Nice to see how much snow we lost these last two days. I can begin to see my grass again. We must have lost 30" of snowpack in two days. Luckily there is no flooding here.

Have a safe trip south.

Thought I could get to see grass again by going to Vancouver. Foiled as they had over a foot of snow, and it is still here!
That's it, I am going to Cuba for a week!

Hmmm... I'm happy to see that at least some RX330/350 owners are having good luck with theirs in the snow and ice.

I'm sad to report that my RX is just terrible in the snow. It may be the slightly worn Michelin LX4 all-seasons. I'm thinking of getting dedicated (real) snow tires.

Get rid of those MXV4's. I never got good traction with them either. I put Goodrichs on our old '04 with great results.

Sorry I had to correct my previous post where I had said I was using Michelin MVX4 tires.. I acutally have Micheline LX4 tires, a 2nd set I bought to match the OEM tires from 2004.

Nevertheless, they stink in the snow and am now seriously looking for snow ties.

I can seriously recommend the Alenzas from my experience last month in Wisconsin. We had 40" of snowfall in December. Often 8, 10 or 12 inches at a time. The Alenzas didn't slip or slide once. They pulled through unplowed streets and had reliable stopping power. I felt safe and in control at all times.
