-I'm also looking to have him add a cutoff switch when I want to cut of sub on the fly. Any issues doing with this?

Pull up the clips, but do it carefully unless you are going to replace the interior clips. Finally the wires for the speaker are on the large connector. dont mess with the factory stereo... i am pretty sure you will regret it I do..
