Adaptive HID
#17
I have a new '09 RX, for about a week and a half. Best headlights I've had on any car, starting with cars that I converted to European headlights back in the '80's. The lighting on the RX is far superior to that on my ex '06 GS300. T7he AFS is very noticeable and useful on rural roads with no streetlights. I would not buy a car without HID's.

Have it on our Beemer, and it only makes a difference in "darker" areas where there aren't so many street lights. If you are city only, don't pay extra.
As for HIDs VS Halogen, no contest. Spend the money & get the HIDs.

Lexus Test Driver
Most HID dont have low cutoff problems, its just a Toyota Lexus thing. Lexus and Toyota like to aim their headlights as low as possible. Every Toyota or Lexus I have ever own I have to re adjust the headlights.

The HID are better, as in brighter, but the AFS doesn't assist much. the 5-10 dgree turn I don't think works as well as the Nissan's lights where the side light actually comes on. Get the lights for the HID, not for the AFS.
