It's definitely in limp mode home. Engine not shifting into gear at all. As for the RPM, it's at 1k RPM most of the time, goes slightly higher when I'm going downhill (please see my response to this thread).

Did you watch the person jump the car? Is it possible they hooked up the cables wrong first? This could have fried some electronics and might be causing the limp mode.

something similar happened to me. after having the car jumped,it wouldn't go over 30 mph and the vsc light came on. I had it picked up on a flatbed and brought to the dealer. it was a blown fuse, covered under the warranty. they said they thought when it was jumped, the positive and negative got reversed while jumping. that was about a year ago and i never had another problem again.

I didn't watch him unfortunately, but hope to have it resolved when the dealer is open on Monday. Will keep you posted.

Here's an update: Lexus' Roadside Assistance towed my car to the dealership this morning from my house. They found that the throttle sensor was the problem and they had to order the part. As the car's still under warranty, Lexus took care of everything... the car loaner, the repair, and the towing. Thank goodness my car was still under 50k miles. Thanks to all for your feedback.

Hmmmm throttle sensor huh, thats scary. Its a good thing the throttle sensor didnt fail the other way, full open. That would create a full acceleration run away situation.

That sensor is maintenance free.
