Default Will VIAS Ipod Adapter Void Radio Warranty?

I recently had factory XM and aftermarket VAIS SL2i Ipod adapter installed. I recently had an issue with the radio spontaneously turning off, notably after the install. I think the problem has to do with the XM actually, but was worried that since I had the VAIS unit installed that it might void the warranty... and if there was a major problem with the headunit the dealer would refuse to pay it...

Does anyone know for sure if installing a VAIS SL2i would void out a factory warranty for the radio/headunit?

Thanks, R

it should not void the warranty, but they are going to use that as a excuse not to cover it. And I guaruntee you that.

My Rx had a front end collision very minor no airbag and it was fixed by a body shop my Lexus dealer recommended and co owns. The car was fixed with all Lexus parts as parts were ordered through the dealer.

My door handles and mirror paint are fadding and have been prior to the accident, my dealer says Lexus won't cover it because its not apart of the warranty and since its had body work Lexus will probably not cover it. Which is contradicting it seems as with Lexus nothing is covered under warranty.

agree it should not void the warranty but it is an easy dodge for the dealer to use. sort of a hassle but worth removing the unit. see if the issue goes away. if it does then it's been localized at least. if not, you can take it to dealer without the adapter and hopefully they can fix it.
