AC issue
Hi, does anyone has this problem?
This is my second RX with this problem, Ac won't turn on. You get in the car, start it and the ac won't work, usually after 5 to 15 min it starts working. This is random, the dealear never was able to find the problem. Sometimes shifting to parking and back to drive will start the Ac. Where do I look?

If it is under warranty...what to do? Take it in....if not still under warranty, then more information will allow us to help.

The dealer always said the AC was working perfectly. The one time the issue happened near the dealer, I went straight to them and the moment I placed the car in Parking, the AC started working. Warranty ended, dealer never found the problem, never happened there!
I guess there is a relay, clutch or sensor that tell the climate control that the car is "on" and it is failing to tell the ac unit to start working. No fan, no compressor, you can play with all controls, change temp to low - hi, fan settings, auto on/off, AC on off, recycle on/off, it will not start. And then, the longest time was 18 minutes, it starts working, like a charm, it cools perfectly.
I used to have this on my first RX 300, now it is on my 330

The problerm was fixed by an auto air guy. He inmediately knew the issue, says it's common. The blower "brushes" get unbalanced due to wear and get stuck. A bump or shift ussually free them (or kicking under the front passanger panel as he demonstrated). He replaced the blower, so far AC working properly.
