We have 105K on our '04 RX330.

The only issue I have with the car is the front rotors ... about every 30K I have to get them turned or replaced; rather frustrating.

Other than that, the car has been excellent.

Get the right one first if you're still looking at the RX330. There can be quite a difference between one RX and another in the same year.

I've driven the hybrid Highlander (boring) and the standard Highlander (even more boring). The RX trumps all the vehicles in this bracket for style and comfort.

It was also the first and only time I've ever heard my wife express interest in any other car besides her Mercedes. That did it for me. And after a week or so now she enjoys it even more - both driving it and the looks.

I was interested to hear someone talk about a transmission flare problem. Now that I know about it, it's annoying on our 23,000 mile truck. I'll be checking with the dealer next week to see if anything can be done.

The RX330, like the RX300, is design-based on the Camry drivetrain; however, the RX is heavier. As such, the drivetrain is underdesigned. For example, Honda/Accura AWD vehicles take twice as much oil in the differential and transfer case as the RX300/330/350 which results in shorter life. The RX drivetrains cost owners about $5,000 between 75,000 and 120,000 miles. This makes the RX product line one of the worst used car deals on the market in my opinion. Transmission condition this is something that can be reliably diagnosed before purchase. I would not recommend buying one used, unless the transmission has already been replaced and comes with a warranty.
