Default Pebble Beach Badges

Just got a Silver 09 Pebble Beach RX, with the dealer knocking $9500 off the sticker even before I started to dicker.

Mine has the Pebble Beach badges located low on front edges of the doors, just above the rub-strips. Others I've seen have the badge mounted high on the fender above the wheel eyebrow. I checked the VIN and mine IS a 2009 model.

Were the badges just placed ***** nilly?

The badges on mine are as you describe, on the doors above the molding.

When we bought ours, the dealer had 2 others on the lot both with the badges high on the fenders. Ours arrived with them on the doors as described. My guess this was a running change. Personally, I prefer them on the doors. Curious, though, what colour is yours? Ours is Truffle. The other 2 were silver and black. Maybe teh colour makes a difference? Highly unlikely, but ya never know.

Ours is silver with gray/walnut. The dealer had at least two other silver PBs with badges on the fenders. I didn't see any others with door badges. I sort of suspect it was a running change. 2008 PBs had fender badges so door badges may be a later revision. Digits 12-17 of the VIN indicate the sequence of the car's trip through the assembly line...

I don't think there was an 08 RX 350 PB, only the 09. They had a PB for the SC model since 2004. They also released the 09 ES 350 in a PB edition.

Sounds like a great deal. What was your final price out the door, including taxes and license?

Car's sticker: $47,456. Trade-in was 2005 LS430. PB RX out the door, inc. taxes license, etc.: $17,500 smooth.

I am confused. Are you saying it cost you $47,456 and after the trade-in it was $17,500. So they gave you $29,956 for your 2005 LS430?

I think it's more like: $47,456 - $9500 = $37956 - $20,456 (LS trade in) = $17500.

Where'd you buy jb? I bought my Truffle PB two weeks ago from Darcars Silver Spring for about the same price you paid, only a hundred less.

You got it. Working off the $37,900 it was trade in about $20,500 and waive $400 processing fees, and a few more "gimmies."

The dealer was Pohanka. My sister-in-law bought a "regular" RX350 (no PB, no GPS, etc.) in Flint Mica/black interior there on Saturday. The showroom was a zoo with people crawling all over the 2010 RX like ants at a picnic.

I've been to Pohanka and I can surely imagine the scene around a 2010. I hope to go take a firsthand look at the the new RX this week.

Default Question solved!

Dear Mr. Breeden:

Thank you for contacting Lexus Customer Satisfaction. We are dedicated to providing superior service. In circumstances that require our attention, we will assist in the resolution process. The early production Pebble Beach vehicles have the badging located on the front doors, later production models will have the badging on the front wheel fenders. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you require further assistance, please respond to this e-mail, or contact Lexus Customer Satisfaction at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 am to 6:00 pm, or Saturday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Pacific Time.

Sincerely,

William Bergen

Interesting, as in August when I bought mine, they had the 2 on the lot with the badges on the fenders. They told me mine was "on the truck" from the Cambridge plant. I assumed it was a later production date and that the change was from fenders to doors.

However, it's really a moot point; they are where they are!

Well, that's interesting. My car was built 10/08 and delivered to me in December. I wouldn't think that's early production.
