My big concern is how thick the plastic is. The OEM is pretty darn solid considering how much abuse these mirrors get every day. From passing cars too close to motorcycles riding between cars in traffic.
Mine get marked up but in the end they are just marks. I have had Poly lip kits that cost about a leg pretty much "shatter" from some simple truck tire left overs on the highway. So I know what "thin" can do and not do

Not sure who wants to read my story on installation of the puddle lamp mirror housings but it was not good. After $475 dollars spent in Savannah Ga. to get them installed I still had problems. The right mirror could not get full range motion as the bottom of the housing was too small. Sanding help fixed that problem. Next came the glitches in the electronic system after I got them installed. It knocked my doors lock chirp off line and now I have to reprogram my computer. Not a pleasant experience to say the least. Lexus could not offer up any help on a wiring diagram for my RX 330 (2205) So it was hunt and peck as it was installed. Not sure I would do it all over again although I am happen with the puddle lights and turn signals on the housing. Seems like price was a little high and had problems getting anyone to install them. Lexus refused!
The how to pictures shown in this forum do not show an RX330. A detailed pdf file would have helped tremdously if someone had one for the RX 330.

Easy to install I would have to say "no!" That's why I didn't attempt it. Maybe it would be easier with directions but the Lexus dealer was about as much help as cancer in getting a wiring diagram. I would not try this yourself unless you are mechanically savvy.

I think if you are not experience, you might want to ask someone who is good at installing mobile electronics to help you out. I did end up asking a friend who does professional mobile electronics installer. Someone with that kind of experience would be your best bet to install this mod. The install requires removing pins from the factory plug completely and put it all back in order, for RX400h, it was a little different from the instruction, also the wires to tap for led blinker also was different from installation instruction fpr RX400h. I also experience some fitment issue with passenger side cover, there was rubbing so re-align the mirror and fixed the issue at my friend's body shop. As for the puddle light I tap the illuminated door sills on my RX and I had this mod installed since summer of 2009. Besides the problems I've mentioned above so far so good.
To sum it up, is this an easy mod ? Yes if you know a good deal of mobile electronics install, No if you don't. Is this mod worthfit ? Heck yea, it's a good mod but a drag to install and minor fitment issue.
