Found this in a search. This should be for the 4 small channel pieces.

They are small rubber pieces that will fill the gap. Hopefully they are the right parts, I just ordered them, should get them in a few days! I'll let you guys know.

I'm going to be a contrarian here, but I don't think the removal of the bars adds anything to the esthetics of the vehicle. Rather looks odd without them. But, if that is what you want, go for it.

Default Roof Rack

This my 2007 RX. If you go to any Lexus dealer they can order the plastic rails.

Part Numbers: LH & RH
75551-48041
75552-48041

After I put mine on. I sold the whole rack. Made 1 1/2 car payments.

On the racks being better looking with them. I cant believe Lexus put them on to start with. Does anyone every use them?

Of all of the RX's I have seen driving around. I have never seen anything on the top. For myself. I wouldn't attach anything to the roof of a car I paid 45K for.

Much better look. You are right, who uses them? For the looks...maybe at one time, nowadays...less drag better...more fuel efficient. Green!!!

Thanks a ton for the pics.

Did you fill the holes or seal them at all - or did you just put the rubber strip over them?

Yes, There is one per side. You remove all of the old pieces and the long plastic pieces just snap into place.

On the installation. I used a small amount of black silicone sealant on the front and back edge. So it didnt collect water in the corner.

On filling the holes. There are none on the top of the car. I drove it with nothing in place for about a week. Waiting for the pieces to come in.

With no rails and the steps installed. It just takes a couple of seconds to clean the roof.

Couple of tips on removing the rack

The plastic molding just slides off. Foward and aft parts. You need to use 2 common screwdrivers to remove them. The first needs to lift up the skinny end. So it will go over the plastic base piece. With the second screwdriver. Put the tip between the gap. And spread and push the plastic piece from the rack. And it will slide right off. Take care as the plastic molding scratches easily. If it feels really tight. Adjust the screwdriver that is lifting the piece up over the base plastic piece.

Once the 4 moldings are removed. With a 12 MM socket. Remove the 8 each silver bolts. I lifted the entire section off the car. But if you want to take it apart on the car. There are two small 8 mm screws that stop the cross bars from going all the way back. With the two small screws removed. And the aft plastic molding removed. The cross bars will slide all the way off.

My cross bars are off. All I need to remove are the 2 supports. This is getting better each time. How much were the plastic trims? Thanks a lot. DIY coming up.
