My dealer did that too. When I asked them as to why they overinflated my tires to 33 PSI they stated that it was much warmer (68°) in the dealership than the outside temperature (~32°) and they expect the tire to be around 30 PSI when parked outside.

Wow. Inflating radial tires based on looks is probably the worst method out there, at least in my book. I guess that is why you see so many underinflated tires out there.

Yea that's probably, I always wondered why also.

lol...by all means that is not my method of inflating tires. lol....I was just saying it looked flat, sorry if I wasn't being clear

chinalfr, ok thank you for your info, I'm doing about the same and getting on average 25-26 on mix driving. In some area where there more traffic, I get up to 36mpg for the entire traffic jam ( i.e from start to finish )
always when it's cold... (not driven for at least 4 hours.)
