Default Alternate 18" Tire Sizes?

I have a 2007 RX350 with 18" wheels that came with 235/55/18. I have a lease that is up pretty soon but I don't want the car driven with tires that are almost bald. Tires in the size are rather expensive so I was looking for what other sizes will fit the factory wheels?

Before anyone says anything, I don't care about the ride height or the speedometer. I did this with my last lease which was a 2004 RX330 and the leasing company never said anything about it and I saved a few hundred dollars. I don't recall what size tires I used but I am pretty sure that car had 17" wheels.

A lot of people here have ran 255-55-18 with no problems.

Is 255-55-18 generally higher in price vs. 235-55-18? I know it really depends on market demand, but for example with the Alenza's, how much is the delta?

At tirerack, 235s are $173 vs $201 each.

I never lease a car before so I don't know the policy. But, why not get the cheapest OEM size tires on Tirerack which is 116 a piece + shipping? Or the alternative, would be to look for good used tires (with good amount of life left) from tires shop, but this would be require a lot of inquiries.
