Help Need to get my trailer lights working to go camping!
I just installed a trailer hitch on my 2006 RX-330. The car does NOT have the towing package. I was charged $63 (OUCH) for a Lexus 4 flat trailer wiring harness that should just plug into the wiring loom at a convenient empty male plug located under the cargo bins in the rear of the driver's side of the car.
The expected male receptacle was where it is supposed to be, but it does not have ANY power.
On a car without the towing package, should this plug be energized?
Any help would be awsome i search pages after pages but nothing helpful!

Just and update so hopefully this will help someone! You can go on etrailer.com if your rx330 did not come with the towing option.Buy the harness for about 60shipped or so and its plug and play without you haveing to buy the module and the wiring harness as well!

so your lights worked without installing a new junction block? It plugged right in and you were all set? You can never get any straight answers from the dealer!
Thanks!

I have been going through the same thing, RX330 2005 no tow package.
I bought the factory hitch (which includes the wiring harness). Followed the instructions, took apart the rear cargo panels and found the plug and presto - no power!
So I read all the posts about the junction box and eventually the dealer agreed I need the new box after consistantly saying all you have to do is plug it in it comes powered up. Well I guess some don't come that way. Incidentaly 3 dealers in the bay area did not have the knowledge about this box. I found some reference to the dealer in Roseville and they at least knew about it.
So I bought the new junction box that fits under the rear passenger seat behind the driver (ending in EO-040) and presto still no power. I am going to replace the fuse (I cant see anything wrong with the one in there (#15 30amp) but dont know what else to do).
If anyone has any other suggestions I am all ears.
