Hi. Went out for a test drive ended up buying my wife a White 05 330 with 51K for $21K + my 98TL that has 185K. My questions would be are there anything that I should have my mechanic look at as that is the last part of the deal before it is final. It looks to be in very good shape. What do you think of my deal? The Acura dealer started at $23,900. Clean car fax. 2 owner but the 1st sold it at around 7,500 miles? I'm over in the GS section and do not know too much about the RX's other then the fly by wire problems and sludge(still in 05?)

Your price sounds a little high although I don't really have any idea what your current Acura is worth. At least $4000?? That vehicle (that you are buying) should be able to be bot for $23,000ish. 51K is not a problem but highish...forcing down the current value.

I've been searching and so far the main problems I saw were the headlight condensation and the fly by wire hesitation. Looks like the sludge problem was only 99-02. Has anyone tried to cook the headlights in an oven and reseal them rather then paying the $1K to replace? My son has an IS with this problem and cooking them seems to have fixed it. Anything else I missed? I looked for a sticky like we have over in the GS section but could not find.

Add a little onions and garlic salt and they cook up great!
Only kidding...I hope you can fix the problem. I suspect if they could be heated and resealed Lexus would not have spent the bucks to warranty repair all those cars.

Re: the hesitation/odd shifting, there is a TSB and a trans reflashing procedure which is under the 8yr/80K mile emmissions warranty IIRC. Complain to Lexus about hesitation and trouble finding gear at lower speeds, and ask them to see if car was flashed.
