Default Brake Issues

Hi everyone, I serviced my rear brakes 3 times over the past 18 months on my 2004 RX 330 which only has 50k miles.
Most recently I was told the rear pad and rotors are worn/damaged and need replaced along with the passenger side rear caliper because the caliper got 'stuck.'
My local Midas dealer just gave me a $750 estimate where $330 are just for the caliper cost. I have been unable to independently find this part and was hoping someone could guide me, otherwise, I will spend the $750.

Is it common to have calipers go bad? None of my local Lexus dealer even carry this part (need a day or 2 to ship).
Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

try autozone/pep boys. they can special order it with a lower markup. is your car covered under warranty? 3 rear brake jobs in less than 50k miles is ridiculous

2004, over 50K, no more warranty. Brakes do not go that bad. Who did the service, the dealer? If not, you are kind of screwed.

I saw your post too late and never check Pep Boys or Autozone...I imagine it may have worked. I don't live in Chicagoland's flat land anymore so the hills of Pittsburgh really do a nice job on my brakes!

I had to replace my Caliper before on my Scion due to moisture from weather and caused
it to rust through. The caliper got stuck and would not function and I had to replace with new caliper which cost about $280 at cost. There was a couple of site that can sell you
new parts at cost but the last I checked the website it's being blocked
