i wasnt aware the second gen rx's had a low fuel light? I dont think the non hybrid ones like mine do as i let mine get pretty close to empty a few times and i never saw any fuel light come on; so the only thing that let me know how far i have left is the cruising range. The odd thing though is I had 2 first gen rx300';s and they both had low fuel lights but nothing that gave me the estimated cruising range in miles.
p.366 in your 2007 owner's manual ... Lexus was even kind enough to provide the remedy.
My fuel light works well and I've had it down to a cruising range of 10 miles before empty but I never tried my luck any further than that. lol
uh yea i would say 10 miles is definitely pushing your luck. Ive always been told its not good to get that low too often as it can damage the fuel pump since the fuel pump uses gas to lubricate itself.
Can anyone please share with me at which point the low fuel level warning light comes on in the 2nd generation Rx400h; i.e, how much fuel is left in the tank? Is it a precise value, or an approximate one? The Lexus manual says 2.6 US Gal (9.8 litres) and 2.2 Imp Gal (10.01 litres) in the same sentence! 🤦♂️
While the 0.2ltrs is not a significant difference, it does mess up accurate gas mileage calculations.
Thank you @iMSQ for pointing me to this thread, appreciate it very much.
it is interesting what the picture (taken from his 2007 Owner's Manual) shows, in @cdnewton's post of 11-11-20. Those figures do not match what my 2008 Owner's Manual shows. (See picture below.) I wonder why there is such an anomaly

That seems right if you get to fueling the tank, right when the fuel light does come on......
