We have an '05 RX330 and a noise.
I did a search and noticed that others have had a similar humming (like a kazoo) noise. It sounds like it originates from under the hood. My wife claims that the a/c does not need to be on however. I do suspect that it is related to the a/c though. Our car is now off warranty.....any estimates on the seriousness (just an annoyance?) and the cost to repair?

perhaps a timing belt issue, or the fan belt. something with a belt will make that noise, especially if its slipping. How many miles you got on it?

Could be a number of things. What song is it humming?

It's humming "Had to Cry Today" by Blind Faith...... and it's definitely not a belt noise......it's way too melodic...

wont be the fan belt, as vehicles havent had them for several years.

can you make it happen on command? if so run by the dealer, they may only charge you a small amount to diagnose it, also do you need to be driving it?

has all the regular maintenance been done? is it due for anything
