Ask for evidence of timing belt change.

It will be on a sticker in the engine compartment showing the date and mileage it was performed if done by a Lexus dealership.

I definitely will. I found another one which might be even a better deal. Another 2004 with only 58,000 miles for $17,500 and he is willing to negotiate. I will keep everyone posted.

A new DVD with updated maps and POI is released every Sept or Oct. Wait until then and buy the new version (probably Ver 9.1). Take a look at what's in the car, as it's probably ver 3 or 4 which shipped with the car and will be have much data that is out of date.

If given the choice or if there is still time, get a 2005 within warranty mileage, your best bet in getting the issues resolved and then qualify for extended warranty from Lexus. Just my $0.02.

I decided to get the 2004 with 96,000 miles on it. It just had 90,000 miles service and the interior looks perfect. The price is $15,200 and he is willing to say he sold it for less than for sales tax purposes =)

I have over 100K on my 2004 RX330. She runs great, but Lexus has been the only one to touch her and I've never missed a scheduled maintenance. You can drive this car forever from what I've been told. My only problem is a cracked dashboard, which although asthetic, is pretty awful to look at and dealing with Lexus on the issue has been pretty pathetic.
