I had a tough time getting my new car cover off my side mirrors today and noticed that 'Toyota' is engraved on the bottom of each of the mirrors. Is this the same with all Lexus cars? It surprised me...I hope they didn't switch the mirrors out at the dealer. I bought this as pre-certified used....

The Lexus GX for example is sold in Australia as the Toyota Prado.

Only in the US (maybe Europe, too?) that the Lexus brand is available.
The funny thing is that the Japanese wants the Lexus brand in Japan. Some of us want the JDM brand of our Lexus.
To each his own!

I think starting 2010, the RX becomes unique as a Lexus brand in Japan.
Try going into Toyota Japan's website. They have a link to the Lexus Japan website...I did a lot of this checking when I investigated the location on the side markers on the Harriers.

More countries call it Lexus than Toyota.
It depends on the model and the country and what Toyota perceive to be the price point they can achieve. The primary focus of Lexus in Australia is Quality and Service (free pickup and delivery, free loan cars, no servicing costs for corporate customers etc). Toyota offer none of these here. Same in Europe, Singapore. Lexus is it's own brand but the models differ.

It is to be expected given that Lexus is simply Toyota's prestige brand. Most "Lexi" are still rebadged Toyotas from abroad... as far as I know the only ones marketed as Lexus abroad are the LS600h and the IS-F.

Toyota markets different models in defferent countries depending on local conditions, likes/dislikes, brand image etc. The Lexus LS460 is sold as the Toyota Celsior in Japan! If you take parts stamped "Toyota" off any Lexus there won't be much car left!
