a quick update from like a month ago on the trans:
After 4 days of non stop clunking, i stopped driving it and let it sit in the garage. Started it one day, and it was completely fine. Now it only does it under very cold conditions. Sometimes, I cant give it the garage, and it sits in outside in the upper 30s low 40s and it will do its transmission hickup until the car is warmed up. crossing my fingers that the car doesnt die. We dont go far in the car though, only city use from now on

At 43.5K Miles, just less than a few weeks ago, the VTT oil hose broke and the car was smoking all the way around the vehicle. Oil was everywhere, even on the rear window. It was also on the lower right side doors, engine and undercarriage and leaking profusely. I notice the smoke at the end of a 129 mile trip to LA when I got off the freeway. The car was towed to dealer and they replaced the hose with another rubber hose for free and cleaned up the oil but how thoroughly, I'm not sure. The oil smell still remains after 10 mile trips and the back window/plate/door gets an oily residue. I'm going to get in touch with the dealer and see what they can do. I tried to take a quick sniff of the exhaust to smell it but it was odorless and didn't seem to have any black color. Weird thing is, the oil gauge never showed oil out and the heat was at only a tad above medium so I drove another 5 minutes to a gas station with fumes coming out the engine. During stops, I checked and the engine seemed very hot.
I had the front brakes replaced recently and have done normal 3k oil changes and 30k service.

2008 AWD made in Japan. Only have 12K miles on the clock and so far just routine 5K mile oil changes. Had a suttle dash rattle for the first 3 or 4K miles that just went away on it's own and has not returned, knock on wood. Everything else is OK. Love the vehicle.

2006 RX400h. 130000 KILOMETRES. Bought used at 110000 Bad right rear wheel bearing when I bought it, replaced by dealer (under warranty anyway).
Nothing else major except...........a leaking inverter at about 120000KM. This is a $7000 part. Replaced under the hybrid warranty, luckily.
Steering rack replaced under an internal Lexus 'service campaign'.
12 volt battery replaced recently, but this is normal wear and tear in my mind. Five years is decent life for the 12 volt.

On my '04 with 87K miles on it, one of the rotors warped at 30K miles and was replaced under warranty. Moisture in headlights, Right rear (triangle) window trim fell off, and just recently - in extremely hot weather, the side mirrors do not function.

exactly a year past since I had posted on this thread and still no problems to report. I did the power steering flush and the oil change a week ago. the car's got 58500 miles. still putting off doing the transmission fluid change. will wait till the car hits 60k. drove the car today for about 1.5 hrs and no transmission issues to report as far as that well-talked about TSB goes.

Ours is a 2004 RX330 AWD we had it since 2008
Pretty much we did the following:
65k - turned the rotors and replaced front pads
75k - brake switch went out replaced it at steelers
93k - Recent brake recall (seal)
- Coolant Flush
Also Steelers told me that the Water Pump is starting to leak and needs to be replaced cost is $975 ! told them to hold off any ideas ? is it possible Toyota charge less? anyone with this experience ? how hard is it to change it on my own

With over 90,000 miles you should have also replace your timing belt. I do believe Toyota will do this and charge less. Or you can go to an independent mechanic that should be able to perform both the timing belt and water pump for a lot less than the Dealership.
