Default What's going wrong, need help

On two occasions within the last three weeks, my wife's 04 has had this problem. She's just cruising along and suddenly the following lights come on, brake, abs, tire pressure, and trac control. She pulls over and stops the car, restarts and the light are off, what gives?? Is it a defective sensor and should I take it to the dealer for service ?? Thanks for any assistance

Take it to an AutoZone and ask them to read the computer codes. Should be a free test. Or, take it to you Lexus dealer.

My wife 05 RX had the same problem. The brake, abs, tire pressure and trac control light came on. It only happen 3 times with my car, and it was off and on thing.

I think I resolved this problem by removed some of the brake fluid in the reservoir. Mine was overfill. I also reset the car computer with the battery negative terminal.
I have not see the light for months now.

When it happened, the scanner did not pickup any code.

+1, thanks for the advice, found out from a friend that it may be a faulty brake pedal switch, Lexus may have a recall out on it.

I will report back if the lights come on again, but lately it has not come on. BTW, please let me know if you able to resolve the problem with the brake pedal switch. I did some searching and it also pointing to the faulty of the tpms sensor on each wheel.

I have a 2006 RX330, also same problem.

In the middle of driving, (no skidding, not wet surface, no big bump)
suddenly, I see the brake light, VSC light, and the tires pressure light came on.

I pulled over, shut down and restart the car, and back to normal.

Happened a few times, pretty random, weeks apart.

I don't think the brake fluid was overfilled, but will double check.

Would really appreciate if you can let us know the part# and cost of the faulty brake pedal switch. I assume its just one switch ? or one per wheel ?

Thanks,

Actually, it's the brake LIGHT switch (no, I am not trying to be ****), and it had been discussed here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...n-driving.html

Good luck.

The previous owner had the same problem with the lights a year ago. According to the service record, the tech cleared the code (C1223 AND C1249) and adjust the Brake KE Lamp Switch.
