Smile Help with RX330 Window Switch

Hi Everyone,

My passenger side front and back window switch doesn't work. The windows only roll down when someone is sitting there to roll it down. I'm assuming it's the switch. When I called the dealer and asked if it was still under warranty they said it expired at 50K. May car has 52K.

Does anyone know if there's any truth to that?

Thanks!

On my RX350, I had the battery disconnected (by dealer) for a repair and they forgot to re-train the windows. The sunroof auto-close feature and all of the remote window controls didn't work - exactly as you are describing.
The fix is to operate each window from the local control on the door, full down and hold the down button for about 5 seconds, then roll them up and hold the up button for about 5 seconds. This is normal procedure any time you disconnect the battery and the dealer should have told you that. After doing this the driver's door controls work as normal again.
I assume the 330 is the same way. I'd look up the procedure in your owner's manual and try that first.
You'll probably notice the sunroof auto open and auto close features don't work either. For that you hold the tilt-open button down continuously and the sunroof will go through a full tilt open, close, slide open and close cycle to get re-trained. After that the auto features will work again.

The 50K warranty is correct btw.

Thank you Dave for the info. I was about to purchase a new window switch until I came across this thread!

Have you tried re-initializing it? That would solve your issue. The manual tells you how.
