Has anyone who has had the replacement rubber hose experienced any problems with it? breaking, leaking? I had my hose replaced at 28k miles and now I have 202k miles with no problems, but I am wondering how long it will last?
IDK, how long a rubber oil hose is going to last.....First thing I had done, when we bought this rx last November, was to replace the oem rubber rear bank vvt hose as well as the oil cooler hoses. I'm also going to install SS brake hoses when they get here as well.

I picked up a 2009 RX350 in March 2023 and am also wondering how well this “improved” rubber hose is working out for those who’ve gotten it replaced. The MyLexus page shows this campaign was performed in November 2009, and it looks like they put in the “improved” rubber hose. Looks like your replacement rubber hose is holding up well for you, which is a good sign for me.
Apparently the "revised" rubber hose has a yellow stripe on it or is marked "KK20 OIL ACM FKM". I have heard that sometimes a crappy dealer didn't end up changing the hose or they put in the original rubber one despite it being in the records. I don't know if anyone has had an issue with the revised rubber hose but i haven't looked real hard into it.
That revised rubber hose is such a band-aid solution by Toyota that it makes me sick. It's to save the tech who's doing the campaign time and effort because it's easier to replace the flexible hose vs the fixed metal one. IMO, I'd go full-metal so you're not SOL if that line ever decides to burst.

I'd swap it out for the steel lines, same goes for the bank 1 vvt line....Once it ruptures it'll take out the rods/mains before you know it. Is it really worth not doing it?

Yes I plan on having both VVTI and oil cooler hoses replaced with the steel ones. Gonna take a month or so to save up though.
Toyota mech of 22 years told me the “improved” rubber hose does’t need replacement
I was introduced to him by a friend. I explained to him the old, faulty rubber hose was replaced by the “improved” one in Nov 2009. I told him I wanted to buy the all-metal line and have him replace the replacement hose. He said there’s no need to do that cuz there’s been no issues with the replacement hose.
As you can see in the pic, my hose says “KK18”…
I might still get the all-steel line to replace the replacement.

Yea same as the oem rubber hose, No issues w/ it till it ruptures & takes out your engine....Then you'd have issues which you really don't want to deal with...The steel bank one vvt line as well as the steel oil cooler lines are your insurance.....

Yep I will order the all-metal VVTI line from a Lexus dealer next week and will have another mech install it for me.
As for the oil cooler line, thankfully I don’t have that.
