Got a problem.....
I have a 2004 RX300...now it is the second gen RX with a first Gen engine.....what about transmission and differential fluid changes?
Would things be similar to First Gen or Second Gen?

I Just did a change of fluids on Monday.
Had the brakes, differential and transmission all oem fluids, as well as the air filter and cabin on my 08 with 100k km
My mechanic charged me $305 for the total service, worth doing to avoid problems in the future.
Cheers

My 08 is about 48K now and am trying to understand this.

Unless you are towing then it would be before 100K. Still, those with WS transmission fluid should be good. Not hearing of any indications that WS is not holding up over time.

Purchased the car used from a Lexus dealer
I was looking at the trailer hitch and ball and it looked pretty worned out also the previous owner seems to have done a lot to highway towing/driving around north america.
So took advantage since I wanted my mechanic to check the grinding noise that I heard from the rear when I took my wifes car out for a spin.
Brakes looked good but rotor had some rust, which could possibly be the debrise that I was hearing.
Taking her to the dealers for an oil change tomorrow and to get some test done before my warranty runs out.
1--While im there I am going to have them check out the rattling noise on startup which seems to have gotten worst.
2--Have them check out the heating/cooling (seems that in winter the air blows hot to the set temp and then cools off
---as well as im not sure if this is normally but when I turn the A/C on it blows really cold air which is great at the beginning but after a couple of minutes I raise the temperature to 28degress but it still blows the same cold air out.)

I realize that this tread is over a year old, I hope you had it figured out - if 3.0 engine, then follow the 1st gen recommended maintenance interval. It is my understanding that 1st generation transmissions were trouble prone due to the transmission being from Camry and not well suited for the weight of the RX. It probably did not help to stuff the same tranny into the second generation RX body.

You're kidding, right?

its 1MZ-FE motor which came from Toyota Harrier, unless he has a 4-banger, which really sucks then!
If it is a 2FZ-FE, that's the same motor available in Camry, some Corollas and Rav-4. That is too weak of a motor for 3700lb 2nd generation RX body.
