Lexus is getting very stingy on warr. Everything over a certain $ amount must be signed
off by the shop ds(diag spec). If he does not hear the noise he will not sign the ro. Nothing the asm or tech can do about it. Even though Lexus put out the TSB, they will
not replace the motor unless the DS can duplicate the noise. It also could depend on the DS, some just sign the ro because they knoe the issue exists and some dont sign.
It is really becoming a pain to get cars fixed properly.

RXSF youre right about the cold weather. The problem started this fall when the weather turned.

Thanks Mike and ecount00. There are plenty of other dealers around, but I'm just going to bring it up again next time I take the car in. Its not a major mechanical problem with the car thats causing damage by not being fixed, its just an annoyance. The car is leased, so a year from now I'm going to be handing the keys back to them anyway.

I guess dealers don't make as much money off of warranty work?? So they aren't interested in doing warranty work?? Otherwise what reason would they have to not fix it? I don't get it though, because at my company even making a small profit is just that, a profit.

Mine made a popping cracking sound and the motor was replaced per LSF-0031-10.

I have a '10 RX.
