Default 2007 RX350...did I get a good deal?

Looing for feedback from forum members on my recent Lexus RX350 purchase. Here are the details of the car.

2007 RX350 (not-AWD)
33,780 miles
Light Blue ext.
Tan Leather int.

Factory Options:
18" Alloy Wheels
Wheel Locks
Heated Seats
Navigation
Leather Int.
Telescoping Steering Wheel
Roof Rack
Moon Roof
HID Headlights
Towing Package

Condition inside and out: Excellent, with no noticible wear to paint (chips, rubs, scratches) and no noticible interior wear or stains on leather or fabric. As close to new as I've seen in a car w/ 34K miles.

Vehicle is a one owner off-lease. Selling Lexus dealer also provided 100% of the maintenance for the previous owner with documented service history to prove. Previous owner had each Lexus recommended service completed (5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 30,000) at each 5,000 mi interval, documented. Tires were replaced at 30,000 mi. Vehicle passed CPO inspection with flying colors and without without much additional investment from dealer, documented, and post-CPO service records in-hand.

My wife and I looked at over thirty 2007 RX350's over the past three months before settling on this one. It's in the best condition we could find.

We purchased it including the Lexus CPO Warranty for $29,794 total (negotiated), excluding sales tax and $40.00 worth of tag & title fees. No additional fees were charged by the dealer.

Wanting to benchmark against similar recent purchases to see If I negotiated a good, fair, or bad deal with my Lexus dealer.

That is a very nice looking RX. Considering the low mileage and the CPO warranty I think you made an excellent purchase at a fair price. Enjoy!

Make sure the VVT-I oil hose replacement as been done. This vehicle's engine is one of those affected by the recall.

Very Nice and congratulations.

The last picture is not very flattering. The clips needs to snap on the head rest pillars.

Post often and enjoy.

I agree. This was done without my knowledge(adware virus) and has been fixed (I hope)

Default My price on nearly identical RX350

Wow, a friend of mine who sells cars searched the web and found me a good deal on a 2008 RX350 with 28,420 miles and he told me "I stole it" at $28,900. It's nice to see that this post confirms it.

It is Certified Pre-Owned, white and has these options:
- 18" 5-spoke allow wheels
- Heated seats, Rain-Sensing wipers, headlamp washers
- Navigation system with rear camera
- Leather trim interior, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, roof rack, moonroof, HID headlamps with Adaptive Front Lighting System, illuminated entry system
- Towing prep package
- Cargo mat
- Wheel locks

I really wish it was AWD because I really don't like that the tires squeal under hard acceleration. For example, I was waiting to make a left turn, saw a narrow window of opportunity to turn, and "gun it" to get across the lanes quickly, squealing the tires as I go. In seven years of ownership, I never squealed the tires on my AWD RX300.

I paid $1,650 to extend the CPO warranty duration an additional 2 years (covered until December 2014 or 100,000 miles).

I was also charged a $600 "Dealer Service Fee", which seems to be pretty common and almost unavoidable when buying from a dealer.

My total cost, including everything was $34,146.

All of the negotiation was done over the phone because the dealer was about 200 miles away from me. When we agreed upon a price + tax & registration, I incorrectly assumed that by that, they meant title and registration fees would be the amounts actually paid to the state and local government. I refused to buy the car when I found out their estimate of Title & Registration fees included amounts that are not paid to the government. I called the state and county to get the exact amount I would need to pay for my car and the dealer's estimate was about $250 too high.

I called the manager on this and he told me that the fee goes to a "Tag Agency" that processes the vehicle registrations with the state. He claimed that the Lexus Dealership was unrelated to the Tag Agency. I told him I did not believe him; it would be inexcusable for the publicly traded company that owns his Lexus dealership to pay some unrelated company $250 fees on each car sold when the dealership could hire an employee to perform that work at a fraction of the $250 cost. Even if this dealer, which claims to have the largest showroom of all Lexus dealers, sold just one car per weekday they collect over $60k a year in Tag Agency fees, which is more than enough to hire someone to perform the work that is done by the "independent" tag agency. I wouldn't doubt that they sell 5-10 cars a day on average.

A few hours later, the manager called me and said they would absorb the cost of the "Tag Agency" fee that they must pay that service provider. With that resolved, I hopped in a one-way rental car and drove 3-4 hours to go pick up my RX350.

I'm sure we all got good deals, or else we wouldn't have purchased the cars, right?

Got my '08 with 12k miles for 27k (7 months ago).

I bought my 07 RX350 with 39K miles on it at the end of November 09. They had marked the price down to $27500. After tax, title, etc I ended up paying around 30K for it. Mine was a lease that was turned in and had no exterior damage or interior wear that was noticeable. Looks like a new car except that my roof rack has sun damage on the center section(I live in AZ and it's pretty much unavoidable out here). I don't even think anyone ever sat in the back seat, either.
I have all the options mentioned above: NAV, heated seats, headlight washer, 6 disc CD changer, etc.

The only thing I wish Lexus would have had on their older models is an Ipod connector. I went out and bought a cassette adapter that works great for my Ipod but it would have been nice if it had been something that Lexus offered.
