Gas pedal issue

Just saw on national news that Lexus has a gas pedal issue in where a family was killed when it stuck.

I am missing something here? WHY NO BIG RECALL.

maybe related or not ,,, there was some fix by securing the floor mat on driver side.

I've read the ES 350's are getting a new gas pedal.
Don't know about the RX.
