i think this is what happened to mine too quite a long time ago; one or more of the plastic pegs that hold the trim in place broke off on both sides of my rx and i never bothered to do anything with it as those pieces are apparently not that easy to find for some reason.

if in doubt, use a credit card for the transaction, otherwise, it is pretty much a simple boomerang looking piece of plastic that has double-sided tape to make it stay.

Hi, I've put about 20k miles on the 2007 RX400h I bought last year. It's been a great car so far. The only issue I've been having is with loose trim in multiple places. Can anyone offer suggestions on how to fix?
I lost a corner trim piece on the roof rack, which I will just have to replace for some stupid expensive price, I'm sure. The other corners also feel kinda loose. Looking at how they install it seems there is just a single plastic plug? Should I pop out the other ones and glue them down?
And another piece, the long black panel trim that runs parallel down the roof was popped up on one side at the front near the windshield. I tried to push it back down and it is a tight fit. Not sure what else to do other than bang it back in, but it def isn't flush anymore.
Also getting close to needing the second timing belt replacement. I called around and the cheapest independent mechanic quote for the standard belt/water pump was $1k. Dealer wants $1600. Is this normal?? My last car was a 2004 Volvo and the same job only cost around $4-600, so I'm kinda surprised.
