^that is correct. I use battery maintainers personally and you can leave them plugged in and hooked up to your battery for any length of time to insure your battery stays charged/maintained. They are inexpensive and worth every penny.

A standard 2 amp slow charge will not be ok for an extended period of time. They make float chargers specifically for this purpose.
Here is one example. There are plenty of brands to choose from under $25. Be sure to use a charger that has "float" mode, and not just a "trickle" charger.
