Now that is great to hear. Sometimes we only hear the bad stories.

105k miles, 2005 Rx330. original tranny. changed tranny oil around 60k
nothing went wrong in my car so far.

What i've found out is that in US, few people use the parking/hand brake! and that is the reason why most tranny in US broke! in Europe and Asia, we always apply parking brake when you park, and that's the purpose/name of the brake! back there, seldom heard of tranny broke, even for cars at 300k miles.

HUH?? That only puts strain on the parking pawl. Not much else. I only use my parking brake if I`m on a hill.

i guess i'm also one of the few who uses the parking brake all the time. in a past life i had another automatic vehicle that i had not set the parking brake on, and someone bumped it in a hit and run when parking and the pawl broke, which let the car roll away and strike another vehicle

2005 rx 330 no issues at all, smooth , with no TSB reprogram applied. Every 30k miles have them change out fluid 4qts only

Default 2004 RX 330 current mileage 130k +

No tran problem so far. Drive from Ft Laud to Miami everyday, across Florida, and recent trip up to NY. No problems. Just replaced two tires however.

no transmission problem on my prior RX300 (125k miles) probably could have lasted another 100k miles too....

99 RX300 AWD, 163,000 miles-no mods. CEL finally came on and the codes 0171 and 0330 came up on the reader. Had all the shifting problems noted in other posts. New MAS seemed to fix the 0171 and my mechanic is replacing the knock sensors as I type. With posts indicating between 4.5 and 9 hrs to do the knock sensors (even with the outstanding DIY photos and tips), I broke down and took it to a pro.

What are the transmission issues on the 1st generation RX's?

Took mine in to be done today. Got a call a couple hours later telling me the ECU died while they were flashing it. Fortunately, they're replacing it under warranty (?), I guess the work they perform is warrantied, so I'm glad they didn't try to stick me with a bill for that.. I'm assuming it'd be pretty costly to replace the ECU.

Have an '07 ES350 loaner car for another day.

Well my 2004 RX just turned 219,000 miles. I bought the car new back in Oct 2003 and kept up with the regular maintenance. Still do not like the way the transmission shifts but didnt like it from day one. I did get the tsb reflash done which helped but not perfect. The only other problems I have had are a dash rattle when cold but didnt want the dealer ripping out my dash so I learned to live with it. Also my radiator is leaking and this is the second one in the car! The first was replaced for a leak as well but I think I only paid for labor because there was that letter sent out about the radiator possibly leaking but I think I was over the mileage for them to replace it for free so they paid for the radiator but I got stuck with labor charges. Current radiator has been leaking for about 3 years and I just watch the coolant level and add as needed. Hopefully it holds up.

Wow that is impressive. I also dislike the way my car's transmission shifts, but other than that I love it!

On another very current thread, I was advised to maybe change the tranny fluid on my 2006 RX330 AWD with 42000 miles now. From what I read here, I am not so sure. I'll probably keep the vehicle for another 50000 miles. This may sound paranoid, but I'm sort of concerned that either "something will get stirred up" or the dealer will put the wrong fluid in or perhaps not the right amount or perhaps not do it right. And it seems you guys are going 100,000 miles without changing the tranny fluid with no more problems than the folks changing every 30K. Maybe I'm wrong...convince me!

125K on my transmission, all good... Hope to get a good 200K out of it.
