Default Replacement key short

My wife borrowed my keys when she couldn't find hers for the first time. It broke in about 3 pieces. I ordered a replacement from Ebay but it is about an 1/8" shorter than the original. This is a Denso made key. Does anyone know if this will work? I searched the web for this and found that there is a long & short version of the key. I'm not sure if the long key goes in all the way in the ignition or if it has part of the blade showing. If I line up the center cut, the cuts are the same length.

Update. I ended up getting the key cut yesterday for $35 at a local locksmith. The key blank was $10. The shorter key works the same as the long version, just it sits further in the ignition. Not much play to be had. It should be fine though.

I had to replace both my master keys because the case was cracking where the blade and plastic meet. I ordered my replacement blanks from this guy at ebay. This guy can cut your key by sending him your Key Code or a closeup picture of your key!! Check his reviews.

right now i only have one Lexus valet key, other master keys are gone. i wanted to get a remote+key so i went search for and found streetkeys.

http://www.keylessride.com/order/quo...&frid=D7A46442

it says that it does not have transponder chip programming.

i like to get a remote for myself and does not care for the valet key.

can i just order this and get it cut( $30 ) and then transfer my chip from my valet key to the remote. total will be 160+ instead of dealer charging me $265(key) and $125(programming)

will this be possible without programming, because i found no guides teaching me how to program.

You have to get one of the OEM blank keys. Cutting is easy but the programming is the issue. Lots of posts about this. Use search.

OEM means DENSO. There's a ton of them on fleabay. I think it is $80 plus cutting and programming.
