07 RX350 26000 miles
08 RX350 28000 miles
both same options, same price($33995), which would be better deal? Which one would hold it value better?

are they in the same condition with the same options? If so then pick the one that is the color you want. Can't lose with either. Are they CPO?
Good luck and keep us posted.

The 2008 would still have one year plus of the four year Lexus Factory Warranty. Note, that Lexus introduces a model about 9 months before the actual year of the vehicle. For example, my 2007 was purchased new by me in April 2006.
If they are in fact the same, it's a no brainer, the 08 is the better deal.

08, is the better choice, unless color sucks.

Also depends on number of miles you will be driving the RX. If more than 50K in 4 years, the 08 loses its edge.

How could a 2008 lose it's edge over a 2007 if they are the same price and same equipment and very close on mileage? He will take an automatic hit in the wallet buying the 2007 because of vehicle depreciation.

I was referring to warranty. If you are driving a lot of miles, warranty is not a plus on the 08. residual value is another argument. Total vehicle value is more on mileage than year, in some occasions. Paper value is another topic.
I look for mileage rather than year, specially if the years in question are the same options and no changes or upgrades.
There are a lot to consider. It comes down to personal choices.
No absolutes.
