I have seen a few threads that refer to the 2007 RX350 warranties being good until October, 2010 (or 48,000). Where did the month of October come from and, can you determine the manufacture date from the VIN?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Congrats on your purchase. It is an excellent vehicle.
The clock starts running for the warranty beginning with the "In service date".
That's the date the vehicle was first placed in service with a customer. In your example with the warranty ending in Oct '10 the vehicle would have been placed in service 48 months prior to Oct '10 (Oct '06). This would make the warranty duration 48 months or 50K miles, whichever comes first. My '07 was placed in service June '06 so the expiration will be June '10 since I only have 17,500 miles on it. I purchased the Lexus Platinum for 8 years or 75,000 miles so this will give me an additional 4 years of coverage. Great peace of mind for a few bucks.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the explanation donmatt. I checked Lexus Drivers.com and found this:
PRE-DELIVERY SERVICE FOR USA ALL ALTITUDES on 6/26/06 with mileage listed as 5. Interestingly, it also states NEW CAR CLEAN UP on 7/31/06 with mileage listed as 3???
I'll look in my glovebox to see if I still have the report that the dealership gave me as neither of the 2 dates above state that they were customer delivery, just prep work.
Thanks again!

Anyway, I was able to redeem my Platinum warranty just recently. Would have shelled out $800 for the repairs I had done. They were covered by the Platinum warranty. I still have about a year left. In no time, I wil be able to recoup the money I paid for the peace of mind I have.

Hello Mandyfig,
Yep, I'm the one that had the TC grill. Again it looks much better on yours than it did on my 350. In fact I was looking at some photos last night and there was one of my 350 with the TC grill installed. Glad that you are happy with it. Not sure about the "naked" look on yours though. As normal you did a good job.
I enjoy your comments. A great asset to this forum.
