Replacing Navigation DVD
I have a 2004 RX3330. The last nav update was done in 2005. I could buy a 2009 disc from the wholesale dealer called My Lex Parts in Roseville CA..the disc is $199. Where do I find the disc player?

I think that is why "exauto" was also looking for a disc player. His 2004 RX has the generation 4 DVD system. You cannot put a generation 5 DVD (introduced with the 2007 model) into a generation 4 and expect it to work, cause it won't.

versions of map dvds can be upgraded and skipped. Hardware cannot be upgraded. If you have a Gen 3 or whatever, that is what you will always have. But you can get new map dvds for any car. new map dvds are released in gen 3, 4 and 5. As long as you get the right map dvd for your car, you can upgrade. And you can skip versions of map dvds. ie upgrade every 2 or 3 years.
