I have a '07 400h and the antenna broke off ![Crying](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/Peace.gif)
Lexus wanted $700 + to fix it/replace it. Are there any other options I have than to go thru the dealer? What an expensive repair!!! Can you buy Lexus parts independently from Lexus? BTW, just joined.

Welcome to Club Lexus. I assume you are talking about the FM Radio antenna on the right rear roof? It's my understanding that it is a radio antenna only and that the GPS Navigation antenna for the RX350 is located in the dash. That quote is typical Lexus, way overpriced. Try another dealer and ask around. Perhaps a car stereo shop or a auto repair shop can deal with this.
By the way, any specific questions you have regarding the 400H should be posted in the "Hybrid Technology" forum. You will get more replies there. Here is the link:

Also the "search forum" button is very helpful. Almost any question you may have has most likely been discussed before.

get a flat body tool to lower the roof liner (about 3-4 clips pulled down)
use same for the side liner trim pieces
You don’t need to remove any trim.
there is enough room to get your hands in there
NEED 22mm short socket to loosen the antenna mount (it is finger tight with the socket)
the antenna cables are behind the side trim on a clip about 8 inches down. (You can reach them with your hand)
disconnect both clips and pull-up the mount out through the roof)
REASSEMBLEand fingers tight with the socket the mount nut.
IF YOU HAVE DONE THIS IN THE PAST...it takes about 15 minutes start to finish...
FIRST TIMER...get a 22mm and flat body tool.. will take about 35-45 minutes and will probably break 1 or 2 molding clips (most Automotive stores carry replacement)

Dear Timcor,
Thanks for the detailed information about how to replace the antenna amplifier (or base) in RX400h.
My wife closed the garage door while I was entering the car into it and the antenna base broke itself. I've aquired second hand replacement on eBay and now I need to install it. I've looked on the official repair service manual, but it indicates that it is required to dissamble almost all parts inside the car (more than 50 steps...). So your procedure looks better.
Would be possible to have some pictures or video about how is it performed? What is exactly a 22mm flat body tool?
Thanks and regards,
Angel

A flat....body...tool refers to a trim molding tool used by body shop to remove interior trim pieces... a flat (like a putty knife for drywall)
easily removes the roof trip and side trim without braking the clips...
dirty no photos. Phone was not available when doing this repair...
be patient...with a 22mm socket and a few minutes. It’s worth saving over $400
