Does anyone know where the AC filter is and how to change it? Sorry I don't have the user manual with me.

In back of the glove box. Turn the srew on each side & pull out. The box will drop down exposing the filter.

so I guess the A/C filter is the same as the cabin air filter.

Yes.

A/C => Air Conditioning applies for cooling, heating and circulation. There is a lot of engineering involved in it, unfortunately not much credit is given to it.... maybe only at the time of purchase. By the way I love the automation Lexus has done here, but once in while some one does post their frustration ... auto -recirc etc.
