Video in on 256-color Gen4 navscreen?

Those of you that have tried that or are using that option with external interface on for example a 06 400h - how does it look?
Is the screen good enough for dvd- or other kind of video although the nav computer res is so poor?

It looks ok, but you can tell some colors are missing. I know that models with rear seat dvd players from the factory could use the front screen as well as the rear one to watch the dvd while in park and with the parking brake on. So, I guess Lexus thought it was good enough, lol!

I have the RSES and watched movies in the front now and again (now I have a Pioneer unit up front) and it wasn't too bad. Not especially great, but didn't really have any major complaints about it. Obviously you can't be expecting HD quality out of it or anything, but then, most people don't expect too much out of the small screens in their cars.
