Default help with power mirror

The driver's side mirror on my '04 RX has decided to stop working. Can anyone give me some pointers as to what to look for that may be causing the problem? I would like to have some idea what I may be dealing with prior to taking it to the dealership, or if it is something I may be able to fix myself.

first check the switch, make sure its in the right place to adjust the mirror, also, check the other side just to make sure, then i would check some fuses, there are some under the hood and under the steering wheel, the lid is labeled, so just pull and check.

make sure the mirror switch is on either left or right (not in the middle)

Fuses for mirrors checked out fine. When switched to passenger side, the passenger mirror does work. Maybe the motor in the mirror itself? If so, any idea what that should run to get fixed?

Yup, try to nudge it gently left-right, up-down and you might be able to get it out of a jam. Good luck.

OK, tried nudging, didn't work, but then used the good ol' trusty WD40, sprayed behind the mirror. Tried it again- voila! Back in business. Also, the hatch was getting a little tempermental and wouldn't always open & squeaked. Used the WD40 & seems fine now too. Guess after almost 7 yrs these things happen. Thanks all for your help and suggestions!

great news that its working,

but beleive it or not, WD40 is a penetrating fluid, which has a really bad downside, it dries things out,

i would pick up some spray lubricant (i prefer Rust Chek) and respray so the problem doesnt return, it also wouldnt hurt to hit up the pass. side too

kiwi is correct.

WD = Water Displacement
40 = Perfected the formula on the 40th try.
