Exclamation Urgent! Battery Is Down!

I need to replace the battery now! But I saw the sign on my lexus factory battery that shows me 84 month warranty. Should I drive xx miles to Lexus dealership and ask them replace it for free? I only can reach Toyata dealership in my local area. What is the best way to do it? Thanks for all suggestions!

Try giving Lexus Roadside Assistance a call. They might be able to help you out. I had AAA when mine died outside of the standard warranty so it wasn't an issue getting to the dealer. And it was replaced for free. Good luck.

I was in the same situation recently. I went to Autozone and bought a $100 battery. Called Lexus and asked them where to fax the receipt. Got a check in the mail a week later.

The standard procedure is to have Roadside Assistence come over and look at your car. Then they will give you a replacement battery if everything checks out. I went and bought a battery from Lexus instead.

the way the battery warranty works is that its prorated. even though its 84 months, they wont give you a new battery for free, and you have to pay a portion

How much is the one from Lexus anyway? I just saw one from SAM's Club - Size 24F etc. for 72ish. That where I'll be going once my OEM Panasonic is up. Lucky for us our replacement battery are cheap.

I think I payed around $115(with tax) for mine, and that's after bargaining with them on the phone. When I got my receipt, the retail was written as $150. I knew ahead of time that they can go much lower. I looked up the price at the dealership($107 retail/$83 from them) that I get all my parts from, but they are located in another state so I had no choice but to shop locally.

I think a 24 will fit just fine. I have been checking on size and specs. Costco does not carry a 24F.

My wife tried to start her 2007 after 2 weeks in the garage and found it first turned over very slowly. When she tried again it started up immediately. It could be a 1) slow drain over the 2 weeks, 2) some corrosion on the calbes, or 3) it's time for a new battery after these 5 years. I will remove and clean the corrosion (and buy a new battery if the problem re-occurs) but can anyone tell me if removing the cable for about 10 minutes will require any reprogramming? Thanks much!

You will have to re-initialize. The owner's manual spells it out.
