Default Left rear bumper lens broken

My left rear bumper lens is broken (wife bumped into another car)

i guess there is no bulb in there, so its just reflective, i am looking at a few on ebay, any ideas how the fitment is? or should i get OEM? OEM is expensive i bet...

I was searching on this forum for installation, do i really have to remove the rear bumper to install this?

some say it could be done without removing it...

thx in advance...

i was able to find the magic bolt and remove the rear lens.... everything on ebay is aftermarket any ideas if there will be an issue with the fitment?

Also i guess there is a small bulb that was burned out, what is this lens for? brake lights?

Since it is a different model than mine, we will let others answer your question. My guess it is what is referred to as "parking light". They turn on on the first click of the light switch.

My issues with after-market stuff is that the lens may be of slightly different tint. It is a looks issue, and you can make the tradeoff between cost saving and not an exact match.

Sewell has the parts listed on their website but no prices. You could google part numbers and see who sells the parts.

I had similar incident with my wife's car, I bought an OEM light for around $80. I didn't want go with an aftermarket because I didn't want them to look different. BTW, those lights are part of parking lights.

JM2C, go with OEM for longevity and match. Aftermarket sometimes will fade. They use low grade plastic. Looks good in the beginning, then after years, will fade due to UV.

I agree, get used or new OEM piece.

Oem was back ordered, did not want to drive with the bumper looking like that. So my local aftermarket shop got me one for $47.00.

Installation took less then 10 minutes, slide it in side ways and use an extension to bolt it up..

as far as lens go, you cannot tell the difference, i do see minor gaps on the after market versus oem. It will post pics later and u be the judge...

i bought an OEM one used on ebay for about $60 shipped about 1 year ago. It took about 10 minutes to remove the broken one and another 10 minutes to re-install in the new one.

Hmm, seems to be fairly common. Mine is cracked.. I'm rather surprised it's so expensive to replace, especially when using an aftermarket part.

I'm not going to bother replacing mine until I find a good deal. Don't really feel like spending $75 on something so trivial.
