Hello - I tried changing my oil today on my 2005 RX330 for the first time and (stupidly) didn't bother getting an oil filter wrench. Well, not surprisingly, the filter was over-torqued by the dealer ... couldn't find a cheap-o plastic one from Kragen and couldn't even get it off with the screwdriver method because it was so cramped down there.

Anyone in the San Francisco area who knows where to pick up a 73mm 14 flute wrench? Or perhaps lend one to me for a day? I definitely need to buy one for the future but don't want to wait another 2-3 days without a car while I wait for shipping.

Try O'Rielly parts. Look for Toyota filter wrench.

strap wrench will be very handy, it is at any walmart or auto supply stores, just have to turn it counter clock wise to loosen. It is 2-3/4 TO 3-3/4IN (70mm to 95mm) one.
