Default New 2008 RX350 Owner

Hi all,

new owner of a 2008 RX350 (39k miles). certified. traded 1999 RX300 with 125k miles. was very sad to see that car go, but very excited for this new one.

I believe the next mileage interval of service is the 60K... anything I should look out for then?

I am sure you will be pleased, the 2008 is a very nice vehicle and with the CPO you will have the Lexus warranty to back you up. Regarding the service interval, a minor maintenance (oil change filter is required every 5,000 miles). You are not required to have this done at Lexus. Many owners do their own and back it up with receipts. Others, myself included have maintenance service done at the local Toyota dealer. The 30k, 60k 90k and 120k maintenance requires more service items ($$$). Again the local Toyota dealer or private shop is your friend. You will can expect to save over half on routine maintenance compared to the Lexus dealership. Of course, all warranty work will need to be done at Lexus. Congrats and enjoy the ride.

My wife drives a 2007 RX350, that we purchased new in May 2006 and other than the steering rack going bad at about 30K it's been a great car. Lexus also had a recall on the same steering rack on my 2006 GS430, so hopefully, the problem will not occur for you. We currently have 65k on the RX and have basically just kept the oil changed every 5k. Have wanted to change the coolant and transmission, but lexus doesn't recommend doing this until 90k. I believe the 60K tuneup will set you back about $500 if you decide to get it done. I enjoy the car, but my one complaint is the front seats don't go low enough for me as my GS430.

I usally bring my cars in twice a year for a routine oil/filter change (~$30-$50). so i've got no problem with those.

the sales guy claimed that I was getting a good deal b/c the car was on the lot for 85 days (I guess at 90 days, they reduce the price), and he was offering me the car at the future reduced price (supposedly).
