Question shift noise coming from back end of rx330

I have an RX300 2004, and everytime i go up a drive way or hill at a certain angle i hear something shift or slide noise that come from the back of my car could this be the spare tire or something else?? It will only happens at a certain angle when i am pulling up a drive way and it has like a small hill to it if that makes sense...but if iam pulling up to a driveway with a flat entrance i hear nothing...

Worth it to check it out. Remove it and do a trial.

Is the jack tightened? I don't know how it is in the RX330,but in the RX300 the jack is tightened down by putting the jack in the slot next to the spare tire and then raising it up to the point where it touches the metal on top, to prevent movement.

I had a clunking like that fromn the left rear, when turning in slow over bumps. Technicians at the Toyota dealer said I need a strut and mount to the tune of $700. I did some looking under the rear with a friend shaking the car, saw the lateral control arm was allowing the knuckle the move 1/4 inch back and forth. The bushing that is pressed into the knuckle was worn.

This may be a dumb question but is the strut the same as what you call a shock?

Just wondering what ever came of your control arm issue. I have a loud clunking noise in the back and Lexus diagnosed it as both the left and right worn rear control arms. They said i need new arms, bushings, knuckles, hardware and sensors. They quoted me at $2K for one side!

Do you know what exactly needs to be replaced if you have a "worn control arm"?

Thanks!
